It startles me that a thread such as this has yet to come up at DeSIPokémon!

For people who have yet to know, :
- POKETAZ from SPPf originally found this glitch.
- First proper-english translation by The Edge.
- The glitch is ABSOLUTELY safe to perform once you have grown accustomed to it.
- May only be performed in EMERALD, not RUBY niether SAPPHIRE.

Moving on how to perform it:
- Go to the PC in the battle tower.
- Deposit the Pokémon you desire to clone (it may hold an item if necessary).
- Exit the PC and save your game.
- Withdraw the Pokémon: DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY~ if you do deposit, it will be deleted.
- Talk to the receptionist nearest the PC; the one accepting Link Multi Battles.
- Answer YES and choose any three Pokémon; either for Lv.50 or Open Level.
- Say YES.
- The game will freeze.
--- DO NOT SAY YES HERE ---
- Soft Reset/Switch the game off and on AFTER the freeze; not during it.
- A copy of that Pokémon will be both in the box and in the party.

Misc. Notes:
You can aslo perform the glitch with upto five Pokémon at the same time by the same process; just keep one Pokémon in your party.
This is also a moment to rejoice for many Indian fans; the unobtainaible six of the 3rd generation will now be obtainable over D/P... the clones are the exact same as the individuals themselves and there is no possible way in the programming to detect that they are clones.

You forgot onr thing ~*Pearl*~ that I just discovered........the clone doesnt work if u havent met lanette........it doesnt work if u do it on "somebody's" pc......i guess u cudnt mention that bit coz i just found it out on my new game a little bit back.......

Well who wouldn't meet Lanette??? It would be stupid + if you don't the PC at FALLARBOR will not be available.

Uhh, loads of people who overlook talking to people! ;p

now now....some people are so good (and catch so little pokemon) that they dont NEED to visit the falarbor PC. So we experts rush through the game and finish it in 6:30 hours....and leave poor Lannete standing there....

Be careful.....My game got deleted because I cloned too many times.

But why?Pearl should have said that before.

That might have happened by coincidence, in truth, there is no such threat as long as the cartridge is original, or as I may put it: works exactly as the original one, and as long you use the method correctly. ;p

My cartridge is original so I can keep cloning....yay ^_^

PLZZZZ LET ME KNOE IF CLONING CAN BE DONE EVEN IN LEAF GREEN ( ORIGINAL CARTRIDGE )..................

No, there isn't, or it'd be all over the web by now.

Yayz for another quality glitch! There is a cloning glitch in every generation of pokemon so far! ^_^

Nintendo really needs to do more testing for glitches!

This also work on duplicate cartidges. I tried and I succeded, but one should remember one thing that cloning should be done in an empty box.
