 RBY Metagame UBERs? The Pokémon officially classified as UBERs (Pokémon banned from standard battles) innclude, :
- Mewtwo
- Mew
But the RBY-Metagame was highly imbalaced and highly in the favour of PSYCHIC types leading to the creation on Steel and Dark; and the splitting of the SPECIAL stat in GSC. According to you: should Alakazam have been considered an UBER aswell? It's outstanding SPECIAL and SPEED and it's although small but destructive movepool was enough to sweep the rest 148 Pokémon to oblivion.
With the return of the original Stadium game on the Wii as a Virtual Console Game, it is a heated debate at this time preceeding the release of the Wii.

I guess alakazam could be considered an uber.....but then....it had got quite low of other stats and one disable of its superpowerful psychic attack wud completely destroy it

But alakazam can easily be taken down by any good physical sweeper e.g - tyranitar.

This is NOT true at all Alakazam outspeeds all of them and absorbs all their SPECIAL-type attacks; only thing they could do is FLY on it: just forcing a switch.

You are right, I think Alakazam should have been considered an UBER. Having an Alakazam in RBY almost meant an instant win. The sad part is today thanks to the D/P metgame which spilts attacks into 'Physical', 'Special' and 'Other' categories, Alakazam has been reduced to a fraction of its power, why? The Elemental punches whose power at first depended on Sp. Atck. which Alakazam had an excess of, is now in the Phy. category. You cant imagine how many people were upset at this.

But what about Dragonite? Stats don't change between games- Val(Dragonite.stats) = Val(Salamence.stats). & I think Salamence out speeds Alakazam.

Re: RBY Metagame UBERs? There are other Pokemon too that have stats higher than legendaries but they are in Ubers.Like Psudo Legendary Pokemon.
